Astro Pak uses liquid nitrogen and a variety of specialized test equipment to perform cryogenic (cold shock) testing. This testing method is critical in the evaluation of components (particularly valves) which have end uses in cryogenic service. Components are immersed in liquid nitrogen and cooled to temperatures below -300F. Once cooled, test gases flow through the components – leaks and flow rates are recorded with specialized flow meters.
