Astro Pak Moves Northwest Division – Fairfield

Astro Pak, the industry leader in stainless steel cleaning and passivation, is moving its northwestern base of operations from Benicia, California to nearby Fairfield. This move is being made to accommodate increased business.

While a large percentage of Astro Pak’s business is performed by its highly skilled and trained technicians at clients’ locations, the greater demand for in-house services required a much larger facility. “We quite simply ran out of space,” said Vice President of Western Region Field Operations, Tommy Tate Jr. “We’re getting consistent work from a number of ongoing projects and we need the room to be able to handle them.”

The new location at 393 Watt Drive, Unit A in Fairfield is a mere 10 miles from its prior home of eight years. Prior to that, Livermore served as home base for the region, with the company previously serving customers from its Downey offices in Southern California.

The new facility has a special wet process area measuring 35’ x 55’ with several processing tanks of varying sizes. It is surrounded by a fenced 15,000 sq. ft. vehicle yard with a raised loading dock for ease of delivery which allows the company to securely base more service equipment in the area to better meet the needs of its clients. “We’ll be able to provide better service at better prices,” notes Carlos Monroy, Assistant Operations Manager in Downey which assists the Northern California office as needed. “We’ll be able to grow the business with this new facility.”  Mr. Tate adds, “The customer knows that we’re relocating to better serve them, and they appreciate it.” Employees began moving to their new offices in the middle of this spring and completed the move without slowing down on service.

Northwest Division’s crews regularly service everything from wineries and railcars to valves and heat exchangers as part of their support of industries as varied as food and beverage manufacturers, biopharmaceutical facilities and power generation plants. It continues to capitalize on Astro Pak’s 59 years of innovative solutions to the needs of its clients.
